Paula
Paula was born in Portland, Oregon, grew up in Valley, Nebraska, and has lived in Oklahoma for 17 years. She has an eclectic music taste, but mostly enjoys contemporary pop and alternative rock. Her favorite bands/musicians are Norah Jones, Nickleback, and the Beatles. Her favorite TV shows are American Idol and anything on HGTV.
Paula is the baker master behind many of the treats available at Michelangelo's. She learned to cook through trial and error (many errors, she says, though we find that hard to believe!) "I can follow a recipe pretty well and thank heavens for Goggle when it comes to recipe search," she says. Her favorite things to cook are baked goods, especially lemon bars and chocolate cake, both of which are sold at Michelangelo's Coffee and Wine Bar.
Like her husband, she would most like to visit Italy. Her favorite place she's visited to date is Vancouver.
Paula is really fashionable, and we all want to know her fashion secrets! Her favorite article of clothing is always the most recent thing she's purchased; it's always changing. She will divulge that her favorite place to shop is Georgio's in Penn Square Mall.
When asked what her favorite thing is about owning Michelangelo's with her husband, Michael, she said ... "Watching people come in for a 'first time visit' and hearing their comments about what a nice place we have. Many times I've heard people say, 'this is the best pizza I've ever eaten' and it makes me proud that MY husband is the one who came up with the recipe. Also, being a college town, we have many people visit our cafe that have so many interesting pieces of history to share, and I enjoy listening to their stories."
Most recently, Paula has been inspired by the movie "The Blind Side." Her favorite book happens to be "The Coffee Mom's Devotional" written by Celeste Palermo. O.K., so she's family! In Paula's words ... "What can I say...she's an amazing writer but most of all, an amazing person."
Paula's favorite quote is "Remember that life's most treasured moments often come unannounced." - Unknown
